  • Crocodile
    For the production of crocodile shoes it is recommended to use the skin of young animals. Their scales are small and very flexible. One skin is sufficient for the use of the upper leather of one pair of shoes. By cutting the leather the shoe maker need to be aware of of the scale direction. They need to be equal and unidirectional. Shoes of crocodile leather are seldom used for Brogues or decored with fancy stitchings as the beautiness of the surface should be effect enough.
  • Ostrich Leather
    Ostrich leather impresses with its unique optic. The leather is light and supple. It is ideally suitable for Desert Boots, as the leather can be better accentuated. Ostrich leather is more often used for women shoes, but it fits also to light men summer shoes e.g..
  • Water Buffalo
    Water buffalo leather is a very strong leather which is characterized by its hard grain. It is suitable for plain boots in muted earth tones. Shoes made of water buffalo point out the masculine character and are more often used for men shoes.
  • Elephant leather
    Elephant leather is a high quality natural product. Because of its texture and thikness elephant can only be used for shoes due to a special process of tanning. It fascinates by its exceptional scar patterns and individual design options. All exotic leather types – surely also elephant leather – are only in use with the original CITES documents and sealed by competent authorities!
  • Kangaroo leather
    Characteristical attributes are light, durable and hard-wearing. It convinces with its soft brilliance. It is perfect for elegant summer shoes. This leather is favourable especially for Oxford or Derby Brogue models. The filigree optic of the patterns are supported by the use of kangaroo leather.
  • Lizard / Snake
    Like all reptile leathers these two are for special demands. To avoid any adverse impact on the extravagant surface and leather structure the use of the classical Oxford or even better the Plain Oxford seem to be two very good options and possible solutions. The upper leather is not interrupted by e.g. stitchings in using this model types. To emphasize the character of this extraordinary leather it is possible to use a squared format of the toe cap.Reptile Leather is exactly the right choice for special occasions!
  • Stingray
    Although well known as food fish, stingray is a precious rarity in use of leather. The tremendous dense fibre structure of the skin make the shoes nearly indestructible. By consequence the process of tanning is a real complicate technical challenge and very time consuming. Regarding the tear and wipe resistance stingray leather exceed clearly all the other leather types.
  • Eel Leather
    Originally Eel leather was used by Eskimos ( deep sea eel ). It can be recognized by its characteristic vertical stripes. This was the back side of the eel. Nowadays deep sea eel leather is only rarely used. Exceptions are for the use of wallets and lady handbags. The majority of the eel leather in todays leather industry come from the skin of hagfishes. Hagfishes are taxonomic not related to the „real eel“.
